Stan Sayers - Colorado Teacher of the Year
Director of Instruction
Stan Sayers has earned the reputation of being one of the countries premier golf instructors and custom club fitting experts for Henry-Griffitts Inc. and Titleist/Cobra. His custom fitting clients include PGA & LPGA Tour professionals, PGA & LPGA club professionals and top amateurs. Stan, a class A PGA member, has provided golf instruction for over 20 years and instructs golf professionals in the art of club fitting. Stan is married, and living in Littleton, CO with his wife Lynda and their three children. Stan has helped countless golfers elevate their golf games to a higher level. His students include local and national junior champions and Denver Bronco MVP Terrell Davis. He is a recipient of the Henry-Griffitts Professional Club Fitter Award and has been elected to the Consumer Research Council's “Top Golf Instructors in the Country.” Colorado Avid Golfer and The Rocky Mountain News featured Stan regarding his club fitting knowledge. He currently coaches Gary Hallberg and is the volunteer coach for the CU golf team.
Scotty Hofer
Staff Instructor
Scotty is a Class A PGA Member with 18 years teaching experience and is a lead instructor at the MetaGolf Learning Center. Scotty works with all skill levels from true beginners to elite level players. His fourteen years of experience working with youth as a soccer, baseball, and basketbal coach and a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader serve him well when working with junior golfers. Most recently, Scotty was the Assistant golf coach for the 2009 Colorado Class 4A State Championship golf team - Valor Christian High School. Scotty is also an accomplished club fitter certified by Henry-Griffitts and has the ability to fit other major manufacturer's clubs as well. Scotty has authored works in The Golfer magazine and other local and regional publications and provided TV golf tips for Altitude Sport's "Golf at Altitude". His undergraduate studies were at NCAA Division I Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas where he competed on the golf team for four years and received the Lou Hassel student-athlete award. He also received Masters and Juris Doctorate degrees from The University of South Dakota. Scotty is an accomplished player as well, having competed for a time on the Dakotas mini-tour and twice attempting to qualify for the PGA Tour.
Jason Preeo - Colorado High School coach of the Year
Staff Instructor
Jason has an immense understanding of what it takes to be successful at the highest levels of competitive golf and has been successful both personally and in his guidance of others. His background as a former college coach and accomplished player gives him the ability to offer insight into all of the different aspects of the game, including the necessary mental, physical, and technical skills necessary to take his students to the next level. As a player, Jason has won tournaments in every competitive arena, including a Big West Conference Championship and wins on multiple professional tours. Additionally, Jason spent four years as the head golf coach at the University of the Pacific and coached two NCAA All-Americans, one conference player of the year, and multiple tournament winners and all-conference team members. His teams twice finished in the top 25 at the Division I NCAA Championships. Six of Jason’s former players have progressed to playing at a professional level, two of whom are Canadian Tour winners and one a current Nationwide Tour and former PGA Tour member. Whether your goal is to lower your handicap, play collegiate golf, or even play professional golf, Jason has the unique perspective necessary to guide you towards reaching your goals.
Peter Norwood
Staff Instructor
Peter Norwood’s teaching background is one of the strongest in the country. His background includes working for three Jim McLean Golf Schools, McGetrick Golf Academy, The Kostis-McCord Learning Center, The Junior Players Golf Academy, and for Stan Utley. Peter has taught golfers of all ages and abilities, ranging from beginners to tour professionals. This includes all types of amateur players, junior players, collegiate players, mini-tour players, PGA & LPGA Club Professionals, and Nationwide and PGA Tour players. Peter travels multiple times a year with players who compete on both the Nationwide and PGA Tour. Peter’s teaching approach stems from his vast knowledge base, he has read hundreds of books pertaining to golfer development, studied thousands of swings, and learned under many of the top teaching professionals and players in the game. Dee Tidwell
Golf Fitness Professional
Dee Tidwell joined the Colorado Men’s Golf Team in the spring of 2010 as the Director of Fitness and Performance. Golf requires a uniquely different skill set than most other collegiate sports and it is important to have a conditioning coach who understands how each muscle in the body affects that skill set. Dee is the owner of Championship Golf Fitness (CGF) and Director of Fitness at the MetaGolf Learning Center (formerly the McGetrick Golf Academy), working with past PGA tour winners such as Arron Oberholser and Joe Durant as their conditioning coach. With his past experience and expertise in all matters related to golf fitness his contribution to Colorado Golf has been significant.
Dee is also the co-creator of www.golffitnessguys.com, a blog dedicated to helping the public, golf professional and golf fitness professional attain levels of success that they seek, and recently created www.juniorgolfnewsletter.com, a blog and newsletter dedicated to junior golfers and providing them with the up to date latest golf and performance information just for juniors.
Dee is a Colorado’s only Titleist Performance Institute certified Level 3 golf fitness instructor, a Level 3 junior fitness coach (the only one in Colorado), Level 3 Golf Instructor and has Level 2 medical status. He also is a Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist and a nutrition and lifestyle coach.
CGF’s goal is to help golfers of all ages and skill levels attain their true potential by helping them become the best athletes they can be. Research shows that great athletes are great golfers, and CGF is out to help the next generation of golfers achieve their highest dreams in golf and beyond.
As a High Performance Exercise Kinesiologist to professional, amateur, and youth athletes in a variety of sports, he has studied under Paul Chek as a level two practitioner and is certified as a nutrition and lifestyle coach. He brings invaluable knowledge of neural motor programming, rehabilitation, and nutrition coaching, as well as functional and sports specific conditioning programs.
Dee received his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Physiology from California State University at Chico in 1993. Since 1999, Dee has been working with specialty athletes from all areas of sports including PGA Tour pros, Olympic (Gold medal winning) level professional snowboarders, professional motocross racers, professional skiers, X-Games (Gold medal winning) athletes, and elite level high school golfers.
Tyler Ferrell
Golf Fitness Professional
MetaGolf Learning Center is proud to introduce our new staff instructor, Tyler Ferrell. Tyler played college golf at Towson University in Maryland, where he graduated with honors and had a successful college playing career. Tyler has extensive experience with Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). He has achieved the highest level of certification through the institute. He loves to share his knowledge and how it relates to developing golfers to perform at their highest level. Tyler has extensive work with 3D motion analysis. From studying many golf swings over the years, he has become an expert in the biomechanics of the golf swing. Tyler has extensive experience developing junior golfers through his experience with TPI, fitness consultant of the Georgetown University girls golf team and working with highly competitive high school, college, and mini-tour golfers. He looks forward to helping MetaGolf Learning Center develop the finest junior golf program in Colorado. Dr. Bill Campbell
Mental Coach
Dr. Bill Campbell is our “Mind” instructor. He has over 30 years experience in training amateur, professional, Olympic, collegiate and high school athletes. He has worked with players on all golf tours and has played the game for 5 decades.
